You might be following all the episodes online or probably not. But, this dreadful hack is driving the HBO officials nuts.
In an ultimate bid to get hold of HBO’s rising shares, the cyber thieves move one step ahead leaving another threat. The mischievous cyber punk, calling themselves ‘Mr. Smith’ have claimed to circulate HBO’s confidential details to Mashable. This includes all the login credentials of various social media handles of HBO official. Just like Twitter, which was seized a week before, the Giphy and Instagram accounts are also compromised. The Giphy log of HBO showed up screenshots stating “HB-OLD is dying.”
Not only the HBO networks, but the big 1.5 TB stolen data comprises latest unaired episodes of various shows. The happening buzz is about the divulgence of the ultimate episode of Game of Thrones.
It’s laugh a minute for HBO presently. A recent bloop delivered the pen-ultimate episode of GoT to the eagle-eyed crowd. Amusingly, it was done by HBO Spain. But they managed to take it down, not before the viewers got a glimpse and downloaded it. It seems here that the Time Warner-owned company is at sixes and sevens. Simply so, amidst all the unfaltering hacks and leaks, they are themselves dropping hints for you.
However, the HBO hacking group reported to the Mashable with the inside story over emails. “Be ready for GOT S& E6 &E7 as soon as possible,” the message read. It has warned HBO and delighted the audience simultaneously.
Despite that, HBO is cut to the quick following this havoc. When Mashable turned to them for a response, they got a sour retort.
“We are not in communication with the hacker and we’re not going to comment every time a new piece of information is released. It has been widely reported that there was a cyber incident at HBO. The hacker may continue to drop bits and pieces of stolen information in an attempt to generate media attention. That’s a game we’re not going to participate in,” the HBO mentioned.
The attackers remain steadfast in their aim. Viewers are hooked to the engaging stories. Nonetheless, HBO has lost its cool.
The Game of Thrones might be interesting. Yet it won’t be exciting if the wallowing hackers have their collar felt. The HBO cyber crash needs a stop before the FBI gets a hand over the miscreants. It is better late than never. Therefore, all would turn out fine.
